Although the best example of a personal trigger I know of isn't to do with fiction by food. The last time my sister ate mini shredded wheat cereal she was also listening to a tape with Shel Silverstein's Sarah Cynthia Silvia Stout (Would Not Take The Garbage Out). With all the description of all the trash that was piling up.
Now every time she thinks of shredded wheat cereal it makes her think of the list of trash...
