Alright, 1970s wire-fu!
Dec. 10th, 2005 03:58 pmJust caught the end of a martial arts movie from 1974, Sister Street Fighter, which has at the end a short wire-fu like sequence (although I suspect they just used creative camera angles). One of the villains and the female martial artist both leap in the air and have a final mid-air struggle.
Poor villain, must have really burned in the 70s to have a fancy three bladed claw-knife and get defeated by an unarmed woman. Then again in the sequel we have a gang armed with guns getting defeated by using nothing more than smoke grenades, billy clubs and simple kicks and punches.
I guess it has been quite some time that it has been hard to find a good villain. :) Yikes, it really has been. The silly villains just hired the martial artist to fetch a drug runner and his briefcase, and tried to pay him with newspaper clippings... Silly villains.
