Thanks Royce, or Dragons on the Mind
Nov. 12th, 2013 12:52 pmI'm going to blame
jeriendhal for the seed of a thought that lead to this opening...
Mika had worried when her mom's boss said he'd handle parent-teacher night. She could picture the fury on her mom's face if any of the things she feared would be mentioned came to her through him. But the way everyone made room as he entered made it hard to worry about any of them. The crowd of parents, teachers, and kids parted before him with hushed whispers of, "The Dragon!"
Before they were halfway through the room the vice-principal was trying to lead her away with a hand on her shoulder, "Now Mika, don't be bothering him I'm sure he's busy."
"No." That was all it took to make him stop mid-step. The school's most feared disciplinarian actually shaking.
"Sir! If she's given you any trouble."
"Then I will inform her mother when she returns. For now she is with me."
