Frankly I think those who feel that Mary Jo Kopechne is the only thing we should remember about Ted Kennedy are as misguided as those who feel that that incident should be stripped from memory.
I've disagreed with some of TK's major decisions (eg his opposing Carter and then Hillary) but this personal attack is way out of line!
For the record -- I saw the Chappaquidnick coverage live. Yes he did not try hard enough to rescue a passenger and seemed to lack the instincts of a President. But all this about some sort of scandal between him and the passenger is rightwing tabloid fiction, slander.
