Summary: Not really a full scene, but this fragment is what I've got.

Trelander kept a neutral face while the human king across the table debated the treaty with his advisor. He suspected Dylan knew he could hear everything they said, still it would be rude to be obvious about it.

"You cannot truly mean to sign it now? We have only had but a single chance to read it. We should bring in one of the surviving scholars. Someone who has made a study of the elvish tongue."

"And we will have him do what? Critique high king Trelander's grammar like a schoolboy?"

"Have him look for the subtle snares! There could be a hundred on the page and neither of us can read this well enough to spot them."

"But that, John, is why I'll sign it. Certainly the snares are here. But they are all subtle ones. We will receive no such offer from the hoard that will be here within the day. If we are very fortunate and they are feeling merciful they shall merely kill those who don't die fighting."

Dylan the Red, last king of the Eastern Coasts, the last human king on the continent turned back to face his elven counterpart. "It will be done. That those of my people who still live may find shelter I shall swear fealty. My army is your army, my people your people. From the first battle you join us in against the goblins we shall serve your crown for seven generations and one.”
