Check your tire pressure!

thepiskie's post reminded me that I meant to say this, check your tire pressure people!

I's surprised I didn't have a tire or two blow out after checking the pressure the other day. 11-17 pounds of pressure on tires that want 44 pounds of pressue. Eek! Then just for fun it turns out that the air hose at the first place I stopped at was missing part of the plug on the end, with the result that the air pressure was the same even after a full minute of holding the hose to the stem.

Keep in mind that too little pressure is as bad as over pressurizing. Both can lead to excessive wear on the tread.
