Title: Untitled
Fandom/'verse: Our world, or one quite like it.
Summary: Blaine and Kristine from Best Laid Plans come back for a snippet
Word Count: 365
Prompter: Rav Strom over on twitter
Blaine shoved the keyboard away nearly knocking over his monitor. "You have got to be kidding me, that proposal is so poorly worded it would make changing a burned out lightbulb an offense!"
"What's this? Don't tell me it's the Campus Safety office again." Kristine's fingers barely slowed typing while she asked that.
"Got it in one. Chief Nutty is still convinced 'nefarious hackers' are laying siege to the college. He's just pushed through a new rule prohibiting, 'any change to the settings, software, or hardware of any electronic device on campus without prior written approval for Campus Safety, Department Chair, or higher office.'"
"Wait, any electronic device? Not any college owned electronic device?"
"Exactly! Does he never run anything by anyone who actually uses their brain? I'm not sure whether we should swamp his office with requests for permission to turn on lights or tick off the chairs by telling them he's making us ask them for permission to do every last little thing. Even for academia I have no idea how he's still got a job when he pulls something like this every freaking wee-- oh, that's nice."
Kristine was gently rubbing her fingers a slow circles across his earlobes. After a two or three dozen circles she paused to rub her hands together. Her warmed palms then pressed over his ears and drew back, once more repeating several times.
"Is this something you learned in..."
"Relax now, questions later."
Her fingers never left his ears but somehow the warmth and relaxation spread across his head and down into his body. Time seemed to slow down and his head didn't become empty of thoughts like he'd heard meditation described, but each thought seemed to arrive and then be released as easily as it had come. He wasn't sure how long it had been when her fingers stopped.
"Anger can be good, but don't let it take over. The weekend has just started, it isn't even Saturday yet, we have more than forty-eight hours left to act."
"Have I mentioned yet today how attractive I find the combination of intelligence and wisdom?"
"Not since Wednesday I think."
Blaine smiled, "Don't ever stop being you."
