New Years anime

So I'm sitting here realizing there are a few more hours left in the RightStuf New Years sale. Which means you all have a few hours left in which to suggest any anime I might want to try out. (Or anything else that happens to be in their catalog)

So far the only item that is definitely in my basket is the rest of Space Pirate Mito. It might not go down as the greatest anime of all time, but it's cute and funny and the clearance sale price can't be beat.

Ponpoko? Borrowed a friend's copy. Strange but nice, but check the THEM Anime Ponpoko review. The frequency of scrotum magic is a bit exaggerated in the review, but it does occur. I think though I would have only given it two stars, I don't have any plans to rewatch it.

If you haven't seen it yet, there's another Ghibli film that I do want to rewatch. Whisper of the Heart (THEM Anime review) is a nice romantic coming of age story. According to the Nausicaa.net Whisper of the Heart summar page it was originally part of a double feature with the On Your Mark music video that Ghibli did the animation for.

Is Chrono Cross related to Chrono Crusade? I've been enjoying the manga for that one. And I've enjoyed what I've seen of Nuku Nuku Dash. I should pick up the next disc (thanks for the reminder).

What do you think of D.N.Angel? I've picked it up a few times, but so far I've never actually bought it.

Hmm, that reminds me, I should make sure I grab Princess Tutu.

Doh... yes... Chrono Crusade *face palms*. I got the name "crossed" with a video game of a similar name.

D.N.Angel I really liked. I finished it last night since I had nothing better to do, but then I'm always a sucker for a romantic love story that involves some crazy supernatural stuff. Oh yeah, and the minimal cross dressing... you can't forget that.
