Looking for sliderules

I have no interest in pocket protectors but I wouldn't mind having that other old nerd stereotype item, a sliderule. Of course these days you can't simply pull out an office supply catalog or walk into a college bookstore and buy one.

So, has anyone seem any place around the valley that might have one or two, or is ebay probably my best bet?

I don't know about where you live, but there are a few places around here that sell slide-rules. HOWEVER. I pointed them out to my father once, thinking they might be interesting to an ancient mathematician such as himself; (apparently, he had at one time been very attached to and familiar with the things). So, based upon that long-standing expertise, he told me that any slide rule you'll find today is probably a cheap mockup that is likely neither as accurate nor as durable as the old ones, ones that were meant to be used and used well. My best bet would be eBay, simply because even if you do manage to find a slide rule, unless it is an antique, it probably isn't up to par with what you might be able to find online.

Annoying since this is the type of thing where I'd prefer to be able to actually handle something first.

I really shouldn't forget to try checking with older relatives too.
