Fandom/'verse: Fenspace, what's Fenspace (TL:DR for those not following the link), sometime around 2006 a mysterious substance called handwavium is invented/discovered. Handwavium is liquid plot-device powered by intent, belief, and memes. Paint some on a car and you can get a flying car. Or a car that transforms into a bipedal humanoid vehicle. Or a car with wacky Inspector Gadget type equipment.
Summary: College student Rhett fell asleep mid-handwavium experiment and woke up to discover he'd accidentally dosed himself and was now a short and young looking catboy. These are a few newsgroup posts he made in the weeks afterwards.

I am pleased to report that since my prior letter Miss Mika's participation in class has been much improved. She had been reporting to class on time and listened to instruction. Miss Mika's performance in the recent gymnastics unit was impressive and I would be pleased to see her in next term's gymnastics class. You may wish to discuss the possibility of an Academy gymnastics scholarship as I believe she could earn one if she continues to put in the same effort shown recently in General Physical Education.

"What?" Jack was squinting at him as if he hadn't been hitting Harry with questions all day.

Flann sat perched on the side table and watched the mysterious girl sleep. There were times being a feline moddy could be quite useful. Being presumed little more than entertainment in the form of living art made meant few in the household paid any real attention to him. Which made his true job of protecting Lady Dwyer all the easier. Ever since the previous morning that meant watching this girl, young woman really, who had collapsed at the back doorstep without anyone seeing her arrive.

"Cat, you're sitting where her breakfast tray goes."

"Not that Sheriff. It's just it didn't make sense before. It still doesn't, not really, but now I know what they wanted."

So via aldersprig I learned that piratekitten has declared February to be World Building month. Very well, it's almost a week in and I'm recovering from being ill, but I accept the challenge.

I've already decided on the first post, but if you have any question for any of my settings feel free to leave a question. (my in need of updating writing landing page, my 2013 Writing Review post, and my writing subject tag).

I posted my January Prompt Bingo card two weeks ago and have since written to six of the prompts:

• Hedge Maze: School Hedge Maze Outing in which a school field trip goes a bit awry.


• Telepathy: Not in the Job Description in which a personal assistant must deal with some spies.


• Captive: Captive Thief in which a young thief is brought before the master of the house.


• Bureaucracy: The Second Option in which things don't go well for a group of terrorists.


• Looking for something lost: How'd That Happen? in which a college student makes a surprise discovery.


• Experiment: Experimental Subjects in which a spy from the Telepathy story finds himself caught and a mad scientist has a phone call.

I have one more partially written and have figured out where I intend to go with another. There are however two weeks of January left and plenty of time to leave prompts based on the bingo card squares. I've enjoyed writing to the prompts left so far, so even if I have some thoughts on where I might go with some of the unpicked squares, don't let that stop you. :)

"You know how much trouble I've been having all semester?"

"Dude, this whole year."

"Right. Well I was bored and started pulling boxes out from under the bed. I thought I had a box with a six pack of Jolt."

"You're kidding. Do they even make that anymore?"

"I think so. There's still some on the shelf at the corner store back home. Anyway, I opened the box and this was in it instead. I think I misplaced my mind when I was packing."

"Right, pull the other... Huh. It does sorta look like a brain."

"So what the hell do I do with it?"
