Looking through her front door's peephole Leona saw two officers and a woman in an obvious super uniform she didn't recognize. Her breath froze for a moment and she was tempted to run. The thought came to mind then was dismissed just as quickly. She knew running would do no good.

"Leona Siskin?"

"Yes."

"Why can't I drop it? I need Introductory Kinesiology!"

"Every student must take a minimum of one class from the non-scholastic list every semester. School is stressful enough. Add powers on top of that... Trust me you'll need a stress free class."

"But I need Intro Kinesiology to understand my powers. What am I going to do with basket weaving?"

"I'll offer a deal, pick a course off the list and I'll put you on the reserve list for the evening session."

Sighing Leon read the list, a hint of a grin appearing partway. "I'll pick two for a guaranteed spot." Circling Recreational Dance and morning Tai Chi.

I've been finding myself pondering making my own 2015 calendar. Currently I've been bouncing between page per day and page per week. There's of course the usual things you expect to see (name of the weekday, month & day of the month), but I've been considering other things that could be listed:

* Days until...
** NaNoWriMo
** the next major holiday
* The Week and Day numbers (ex: February 5th would be the 36th day of the year and in the 6th week of the year)
* Day/Month names in other languages...
* Non-US Holidays
* What the day is in different calendar systems
* Events you wouldn't find on mainstream calendars like the dates of various fan conventions

And of course space to put notes. Surprised how often there isn't space to put but the tiniest of notes.

Tira glanced past Daven at the wooden spider. At least she thought it was wood aside from the metal joints. It wasn't really a spider, almost more like the downy ball of Puffball weeds, but those didn't walk across rooms and up bookshelves.

The emperor glanced towards the windows and realized the sun had set. Hours of discussion with his advisors and they had yet to come up with a solution to the southern frontier.

"No!" Thankfully General Lethain's fist silenced the speaker by pounding upon table rather than face. "Why can you not keep this in your head? It does not matter if they have equal claims on the valley, the Eshelti and Albelti Clans are oil and water. It will not work!"

"Then keep them separate, perhaps if we rule that each receives one side of the valley?"

"Take two of the clans with the hottest tempers in the empire and set them facing each other with a river and fields to fight over? Within a year they will be fighting each other instead of guarding the frontier."

The emperor's eyes found their way to the remains of their meal. Standing he took a crystal bottle from it's silver tray and set it upon the conference table.

"You speak of oil and water but let me remind you neither do oil and vinegar mix. And yet this dressing has not broken because of the egg yolk. The Eshelti and Albelti must agree on a third clan to join them or lose their claim. And all must settle together."
